Whatcom County primary ballots in the mail Wednesday

Some registered voters in Whatcom County will receive ballots in the mail after the county Elections Department sends them on Wednesday, July 15. Only a handful of races appear on the primary ballot , and not everybody in the county will be asked to cast votes by Election Day, Aug. 4. Races of note involve seats on the Port of Bellingham commission , the County Council and Ferndale mayor. Other contests that drew more than two candidates, and hence appear on the primary ballot, are in the Bellingham and Blaine school districts, and Ferndale City Council.
