Jan. 27: The FTC finalizes the sale, saying Albertsons and Safeway ownership could be anti-competitive in 130 local markets across the western U.S. “This settlement will ensure that consumers in those communities continue to benefit from competition among their local supermarkets,” says FTC Chairwoman Edith Ramirez.
