Deadline nears for Whatcom primary ballots

Voters selecting candidates for office in primary races across Whatcom County have until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, to turn in their ballots at one of nine available election drop boxes . No postage stamp is needed at the drop boxes, but people who will mail their ballot must affix a 49-cent stamp and should drop it in the mail no later than Monday, Aug. 3. Depending on a voter’s residence, the primary ballot includes races for Bellingham School Board, Whatcom County Council, Port of Bellingham commission, Ferndale mayor and city council, and Blaine School Board.
