Bellingham is full of local, public art collections. Visit some of our favorite displays at Big Rock Park, Boulevard Park, Fairhaven and the City Center. Additionally, the Whatcom Museum offers a glimpse into the history of this corner of the Pacific Northwest by means of interactive, fine art, and educational exhibits.
In terms of performing arts, the Mount Baker Theatre has been the place for any and all major performances in Bellingham since the 1930s, including all things dance, music, and more. The theatre seats over 1,500 and is the most popular place for big name performances like Nick Swardson, Ziggy Marley, Death Cab for Cutie, and John Legend.
Another Bellingham treasure is the Upfront Theatre, Ryan Stiles’ own established comedy club. The cabaret-style venue offers live improv every Thursday through Saturday. Some of the Upfront’s most well known long form narrative shows include Hellingham, Cops 911, and Space Trek. In addition to the actual performances, the Upfront also offers improv classes.
